Polk State's Haines City-Davenport campus is fully funded, aiming for Spring 2027
noted Aug 28, 2026
Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the state budget on June 29, 2026, releasing the remaining roughly $7.6 million for construction of Polk State College's Haines City-Davenport campus on U.S. 27. The roughly $51 million, 75,000-square-foot building sits on 7.8 acres the college bought in 2009 and follows $13.2 million appropriated in 2022 and $8.1 million in 2024, plus $3 million from the Barnett family. The college says the campus is on track to open for the Spring 2027 semester and will house most of its health sciences programs.
