FDOT plans median, resurfacing and signal upgrades on SR-434 through Casselberry, Longwood and Winter Springs

FDOT is proposing upgrades to a 2.09-mile stretch of S.R. 434 from east of U.S. 17-92 to S.R. 419: resurfacing, replacing the two-way center turn lane with a raised median with directional openings, ADA sidewalk-ramp reconstruction, and signal upgrades at multiple intersections. Design is a $1.6 million effort expected to wrap in fall 2027; construction is estimated at $10.4 million and expected to be funded by early 2028. The agency presented the plan at an open house at the Longwood Community Building in late August.
