The closed Orange–Lake road is finally being rebuilt — four lanes by early 2027
noted Sep 1, 2026
Construction is underway on segments 5 and 6 of the Flemings Road Extension, Orange County reported in January 2026. The two-lane rural roadway is being widened into a four-lane divided urban facility with a 10-foot multiuse path along the north side and a sidewalk on the south, upgrades to the CR 545/Flemings Road/Western Way intersection, and enhanced drainage. Flemings Road will ultimately connect to Sawgrass Bay Boulevard at the Lake County line — the regional link between Horizon West and the subdivisions of south Clermont. The county expects construction complete in early 2027.
