1,000 apartments where Orlando’s first public housing stood
noted Sep 1, 2026
The plan for the 11-acre Griffin Park site in Parramore calls for up to four towers totaling 1,000 apartments, 725 of them affordable, with a community center and a small-format grocery store. The first phase, a seven-story senior tower on Parcel B, carries 160 all-affordable units at an estimated $40 million, with a 1,500-square-foot café and a three-story parking structure; the final phase on Parcel D is a 10-story market-rate building of up to 275 units. PMG Affordable is developing with Banc of America CDC and the Oughtness Group; Baker Barrios is the architect. Griffin Park opened in 1940 as Orlando’s first public housing development and was demolished in 2024.
