Brightline is getting a Space Coast stop — Cocoa lands $56M federal grant for its station
noted Aug 27, 2026
Brightline's next station is officially headed to Cocoa. The city secured a roughly $56 million federal grant, announced August 11, to design and build a multimodal station near S.R. 528 and US-1 — the line's first Space Coast stop, complete with about four miles of new track tying it into the existing Orlando-Miami corridor. Once built, it puts Port Canaveral cruises and Kennedy Space Center a short hop from a train that already connects to Orlando International. The long-promised Tampa extension, meanwhile, still has no committed funding or construction date.
