Plant Street is changing hands — and its shops are finding new footing
noted Aug 27, 2026
Downtown Winter Garden's big story this year is ownership: entities tied to one buyer, James Larweth, have picked up 36 downtown properties for more than $40 million since 2015, including the Bond Building at 2 W. Plant St. for $4 million in December. The shake-up cost Plant Street the beloved Three Birds Cafe, which closed February 26 and reopened in Minneola — but Polka Dotz is staying downtown, moving to 31 S. Main St. Meanwhile, Plant Street Commons at 419 W. Plant St. is still on track for a late-2026 finish, and Plant Street Market added JAM Hot Chicken and a second Hunger Street Tacos.
