Construction that began in August 2025 continues on Magic Kingdom’s Villains Land site, cleared behind the Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain. At D23 in August 2026, Disney said the expansion will be comparable in scale to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, with dining, shopping and two major attractions — a Maleficent coaster through enchanted briars and a dark ride into the Evil Queen’s catacombs.
