Spaceship Earth is getting its first major update in nearly 20 years
noted Aug 31, 2026
Disney announced at D23 in August that Spaceship Earth will be reimagined, shifting the ride's story from human communication to human connection and, in Disney's words, bringing the attraction into the internet age. No closure date or timeline was given — for now the announcement is the whole story.
