FDOT’s $8.88 million safety and repaving project covers 1.7 miles of State Road 426 from South Park Avenue to North Lakemont Avenue: repaving, raised intersections and easier-to-see crosswalks, lighting upgrades and a new curve warning system. Construction was set to begin in August 2026 and last just over a year, with most work between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. and at least one lane kept open in each direction.
