I-4 at Sand Lake Road: loop ramps open, interchange work runs through 2027

FDOT's rebuild of the I-4 interchange at Sand Lake Road opened a new loop ramp system in May 2026, eliminating the left turn from westbound Sand Lake Road to southbound Turkey Lake Road. Crews finished concrete deck pours over Central Florida Parkway in June, after setting bridge beams there and at Sand Lake Road in March. The full job — a diverging diamond interchange plus new westbound express lanes — is scheduled to finish in 2027.
