Incoming schools superintendent lays out his plans at an Aug. 31 workshop in Tavares

The Lake County School Board unanimously selected Deputy Superintendent Chad Farnsworth to succeed Diane Kornegay, who retires at the end of the 2026-27 school year. Farnsworth has been deputy superintendent since 2024 and previously led Bradford County Schools from 2012 to 2016. He presents his vision and priorities at a public workshop at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 31 at the district office, 201 W. Burleigh Blvd. in Tavares.
